It’s been 1 year

It’s been 1 year

Aug 9, 2018

I’m back in Toronto after 3 weeks in NYC doing my Strala Yoga Advanced Leadership Training. I’m so excited to share all the lessons I’ve learned with you!

It’s also been 1 year since I’ve walked away from my advertising career

I was out of alignment, working at a job that did not fulfill me

Now, it may seem like I dropped everything from one day to another and launched into this new phase but this wasn’t the case (at all)

I knew from a while back that I wanted more connection and meaning in my life, in which design itself couldn’t provide me

So I succumbed to my curiosities and let them guide me
I took it one step at a time. Working full-time while investing in things that light me up in my free time. Here’s a rough timeline:

  • 2013: Getting into Strala Yoga. I knew I would love to guide one day!
  • 2015: IIN Health Coaching Certification
  • 2017: B-School, learning the basics of running a business!
  • 2017-2018: 4 years later, I am now a proud Strala Yoga 500Hr Guide

Ok, but why am I sharing any of this with you?

Because I want you to know, that any kind of change takes time

Getting into alignment with yourself takes hella work and patience!
You might see someone’s life and think they have it all compared to yourself
But you don’t see what they’ve done to get there

I want you to be kind on yourself, to be patient
Specially if you’re in a place where you’re not certain about your future

Things DO work out

Do the inner work and trust the process
Trust that you’ll get there

And most importantly, enjoy the journey
Take care of yourself along the way. Setbacks will happen and detours are lessons in disguise

I believe in you, wholeheartedly

Love & hugs,
Jess

So glad it resonated with you Anne! Patience is something I’m still working on haha but knowing that good things take time and not to be frustrated with myself has been a big mindset shift 🙂
