You know what my biggest pet peeve in the Human Design industry is? The pressure around the idea that there’s a “correct vs. wrong” way of doing things. Let’s say you didn’t follow your Strategy & Authority, now what?
Well, it’s not the end of the world.
Picture a GPS re-routing whenever we take a ‘wrong’ turn or miss an exit. We’ll still get to where we’re meant to go but through a different route instead. Perhaps a scenic one we didn’t anticipate. We might even end up in a shortcut or stumbling upon a cute little store we didn’t even know we were interested in or finding a new favourite coffee shop that makes the best fruit pastries.
If there’s anything I can guarantee you is that detours, mistakes, the unexpected…well is usually expected to happen 😉 This is the experience of being alive here. There will be times where we might overextend ourselves as a result of taking an unplanned turn but that’s really it.
Our responsibility isn’t to ensure that every choice we make is the ‘right’ or perfect one—whatever that means because there is no such thing. That’s so much pressure to put on ourselves, it leads to an impossible routine of mental gymnastics. Where no matter what we do, we never land properly because there’s always something to poke, criticize or improve. And then we’re so exhausted we can’t tap into our intuition, our inner guidance. How can we possibly build trust in ourselves if we’ve spent all our time & energy tearing ourselves apart?
Our responsibility is to be our own advocate. To be so grounded and rooted into ourselves that we know how we are and what we need. Self-care isn’t just a privilege it’s a must and it’s also very challenging if we have never had a chance to prioritize and safely put ourselves in the center. While we might not be able to control our external circumstances, we are the ones living in our internal world which relates to the external one: What is your inner narrative like? How do you speak to yourself? What voices are predominant? What triggers you? How do you nourish your body, mind and spirit?
How do you care for yourself like you’re the most precious thing in your life? Because you are. And if this makes you cringe, where is it coming from?
You’re not going to deviate from your life purpose or ef everything up just by not following your S&A, you might be swept into an unexpected adventure with a few lessons and challenges that might help you get clarity and know what you don’t what or what’s no align. There might even be moments of joy if you dare to look.
What’s meant for you, will always find you. Every opportunity is an opening, a portal.
We’re here to take the road of less resistance but sometimes life has a funny way of nudging us into detours, into what’s underneath our resistance to inform, to challenge and to initiate us into new heights; to close patterns by repeating them X amount of times.
So you didn’t follow you S&A or made a mistake. How can you centre yourself now? Alignment happens through the micro-choices we make from noticing our own inner narratives, reactions, to the actions we make.
When we spend less time beating ourselves up for ‘doing it wrong’ we have more space + energy to engage with the present while being fully present.
And what a relief that is! To be able to spend less time spiralling and more time in rooted in our wholeness.
