BAZINGA! It’s what you enjoy doing and energizes you at the same time

It’s funny, growing up my ‘strengths’ were measured by how much better I was compared to someone else. If my grades were higher than that friend, if I was better at a certain hobby than X person…No matter what I did I was constantly being scrutinized and compared to someone better.

I was never enough

It’s such a daunting way to measure a strength, because there will always be someone better than you in anything you do. And there will always be someone better than them as well.

But, what if we stop making it into a competition?

I love the quote above by Marcus Buckingham because it’s such a refreshing take on strengths. It’s not about anyone else but yourself. What do YOU DO, that makes YOU FEEL strengthened?

At the end of the day what matters is that you feel fulfilled doing what you like and chances are, it’s connected in one way or another to your strengths and what you enjoy doing.
