You know what gets on my nerves? The idea that when you transition into *something new* you are essentially starting over.
Like hitting the reset button in a video game. Losing all your hard-earned coins, bonus mushrooms and the territories you’ve unlocked.
That *something* could be a relationship, career, degree etc.
It was said to me countless times when I left my job last year.
I mean I get it. It feels like I’m going into a completely different world.
From design to wellness.
But the reason this “expression” doesn’t sit well with me is because it seems so dismissive of my process.
As if all the years I’ve spent before now were worthless. Those years taught me so much about myself. The good, the bad. What I want, what I don’t want. And I for one, have certainly “levelled-up” and learned new skills compared to when I first started this game of life.
The point is, if I had skipped all those years and went straight into wellness, I wouldn’t be the same person I am now.
So, if you’re in a place of transition, remember you’re not starting over from zero
TRUST THE PROCESS
But most importantly, trust yours.
Because the process of becoming is as important as your why, your dreams and aspirations.
Trust that you’re exactly where you’re meant to be, doing what you’re supposed to do
Keep exploring and playing! Maybe you know what you want, maybe you don’t yet.
That’s OK. There are no dead-ends nor right or wrong turns.
You might not get all the answers right away but as long as you take care of yourself you’ll start to find more clarity. You’ll figure it out.
So if you find yourself venturing into something new or the unknown, you’re not starting over! You’re simply stepping into new challenges
A big cyber hug to you! 💖
