A space for the messy, beautiful process of coming home to ourselves

Went to a lovely family trip with my parents and Erica during the last week of July. We took a tour bus from Toronto to Vancouver which lasted 9 days. We decided for a relaxing end to our trip: cruising with Holland America from Vancouver to Seward, Alaska. I’ve always been a fan of Royal Caribbean cruises so I was nervous about going on a different cruise line. But I was sure I’ll love it anyways, I’ll take any chance to be close to the sea. Needless to say, it turned out to be a relaxing, quite pleasant trip. We took the 7-Day Glacier Discovery Zaandam ship and stopped by Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Glacier bay and finally arriving to Seward, Alaska.

It was exactly what I needed to disconnect and reset. No work emails, no social media, no noise. Just me, the sea and my family.

We joined some shore excursions, one of them was snorkeling in -6 ˚C waters in Ketchikan. The water was pretty murky so we didn’t see much. Some starfish, sea cucumbers, crabs and fish.

Gorgeous sunrise and sunset views all around. The sea has such a calming invigorating effect.
