The Root center represents life fuel, momentum adrenaline, stress and pressure. It is a motor and pressure center.

It is often associated with the adrenal system and stress hormones. Stress is a necessary and natural part of life. It is fuel but like many things it can go out of balance. Stress can energize us and move us forward.

 

 

The Root energy is an essential ingredient in the manifesting equation, it’s the energy to do, to survive, to feel and to respond to life.

 

 

Approximately 60% of the population have a defined Root, projecting their own pulse and pressure. Whether through their format energies, their fixed splenic pressure to survive, their emotional stress/process etc.

While an estimate of 40% of the population are undefined or completely open. Taking in and amplifying this powerful motor and pressure center. Getting into action and being moved my the pulse and urgency around them.

 

Defined Root Center

With a defined Root center you feel a steady pulse to move ahead in the world. You have a consistent way with dealing with stress and pressure. Your own rhythm per say. You have access to the fuel that drives energy to your throat.

It’s a pure and powerful energy that moves your forward in life. The Root can be defined by the Sacral, Spleen and/or Solar Plexus.

 

The Undefined Root Center

With an undefined Root center you amplify other’s stress & pressure to do. You absorb it from your environment and want to relieve the pressure by getting into action, which could lead to burnout.

Notice when the stress is yours vs. someone’s else you’re amplifying. Learning to discern what’s yours and honouring your energetic ebbs and flow will do wonders to releasing pressure in this area.

 

The Not Self of this center is: “Always in a hurry to be free of pressure

If you have an undefined or open Root center, you’re taking in and amplifying this powerful pressure energy, sprinting you into action to get rid of the pressure.

One of the biggest lessons of this undefined center is discerning and recognizing the stress, the urgency you’ve amplified. How can you create space between you and the discomfort of the pressure? How can you discern on what to act on vs. what you’ve amplified from others? How can you release that pressure?

 

Gates in the Root Center

Whether you’re defined or undefined notice what gates you have activated in the Root. That’s the area where energy will be flowing and processing most often. What’s the theme of that energy? What center is it connected or pointed towards?

If defined, have you noticed the theme of that steady pulse?

If undefined, how can you hold that pressure without the need to get into action? How can you let your strategy and authority move you instead?

 

One more thing

Remember, the centers are a fraction of your design. You are a unique combination of so many other moving parts. Your type, definition, profile, channels, gate, conditioning etc. All this information is pretty high level but a good starting point to get you familiarize with the HD system.

Knowing what energies we broadcast and amplify gives us a better sense of awareness. It helps us build a better understanding of ourselves and others.

You can be whoever you want to be. Human Design simply gives you a little insight on how your energies can support you and provide direction for what tools can help you get there.

⬆️ Do you have a defined, undefined or open Root center?

I have an undefined root with lots of gates activated! I’ve got 4 planet placements in gate 38 (gate of the fighter) and 2 planets in 39 (gate of provocation) + 1 planet in 58. With that much fuel I’ve felt anxious over not doing enough and feeling the need to be moving all the time even when my body was exhausted. I’ve sensitized to how this pressure centre feels for me so whenever I feel a rush of adrenaline, stress I’m able to step back and discern if my strategy and authority is telling me to respond and move or if it’s someone else’s stress I’ve amplified so I can release.
