The Ajna Center

The Ajna Center

Feb 18, 2022

The Ajna, also known as the Mind center is our cognitive awareness center.

It’s where we process everything we’ve downloaded from the Crown center. From ideas to concepts, details, answers.

As an awareness center, it’s here to help us make sense of the world and stay alive.

Each gate in the Ajna also carries a theme of mental anxiety, which could be a result of forcing a certain outcome, turning this energy inwards or not being received.

Approximately 47% of the population have a defined Ajna. Broadcasting, sharing their processing, formalization, reasoning and anxieties with the rest of the world.

While an estimate of 53% of the population are undefined or completely open. Which means they’re taking in the processing, realizations, ideas and even anxieties of the defined.

Defined Ajna Center

With a defined mind you’re constantly conceptualizing, processing and interpreting ideas.

Your energy is consistent, specific and something you can rely on.

You’re capable of providing certainty and grounding to ideas whether they’re abstract or logical.

You’re not easily influenced by others and enjoy thinking about many things at once.

The Undefined Ajna Center

With an undefined Ajna you might feel a constant pressure to figure things out, to find answers and having to be certain.

Your Ajna is open and receptive. Able to see multiple perspectives at once. You have wisdom around which ideas have value.

Ability to challenge others to get clear on their own concepts.

Make sure you carve out space to “shut down” when mental energy isn’t available.

Gates in the Ajna Center

Whether you’re defined or undefined notice what gates you have activated in the Ajna.

That’s the area where energy will be flowing and processing most often.

I say most often because there are other factors that can influence our energies; such as the transits, people you hang out with etc. We’re rarely just our energies but understanding what’s constant within us can help us feel grounded and have a better sense and awareness of what we’re broadcasting to others and what we’re amplifying.

One more thing

Remember, the centers are a fraction of your design. You are a unique combination of so many other moving parts. Your type, definition, profile, channels, gate, conditioning etc. All this information is pretty high level but a good starting point to get you familiarize with the HD system.

Knowing what energies we broadcast and amplify gives us a better sense of awareness. It helps us build a better understanding of ourselves and others.

You can be whoever you want to be. Human Design simply gives you a little insight on how your energies can support you and provide direction for what tools can help you get there.

I have a defined ajna with the 23/43 channel.

I have a complete open ajna with no gates/channels open. Is that bad? What does that mean?

      Hi Tatum,

Not at all! I have a completely open Crown and Ajna 🙂 This just means you’re here to amplify the full spectrum of the energies in the Ajna. You’re good at holding multiple perspectives, open minded and you’re able to ask poignant questions. You’re not here to always conceptualize or dive super deep into things since you’re not meant to hold consistent mental energy.

Learning when to hold, when to release mental energy can help with the pressure and processing!

  3. HI! I am a 5/1 projector with an emotional authority – I also have a defined head & ajna. Does this make me an energy projector?? I honestly identify with the tiredness/burn out trope of “classic” projectors, so now I’m confused! lol Any thoughts? Thank you!

      Hi Jayna,

Yes, with the Emotional Solar Plexus defined you would fall under the category of energy projector. But you’re still a projector after all!

You’re picking on the energy around you everywhere you go, that in itself is a bit to process. So if the rest of your day you’re in a job that might be highly stressful, a lot responsibilities in your family life, running a household etc… then it’s all going to add up. Having a motor center defined doesn’t mean we’ll have the energy to necessarily “do” more. Also as an emotional motor it’s basically the motor for emotional awareness!

For example, I’m a splenic projector with only my spleen and ego defined. The ego is the motor for will, work, rest…so once in a while I have the will to move mountains but I’m not here to move every mountain.. unless the rest of my authority and energetics aligned. The ego is also a motor that loves, needs rest. If I push, that’s how I burn out as well!

Hope that helped clarified a bit!
